5-6 TEST

Works will be undertaken to install the largest pile on the Olympia project. We are planning to undertake these works over a 24 hour period from Tuesday 5th to Wednesday 6th April.

8am – 6pm – Drill the pile out
6pm – 8pm – Install the reinforcement in the pile
8pm – 3am – Concrete the piling
3am – 3:15am – Removal of the casing, end of works.

Wherever possible, we avoid working out of core working hours to the best of our ability, however in this instance due to the size of the pile, we will need to work continuously to complete the concrete pour. Please take assurance that all noisy activities will take place during core working hours 8am to 6pm only.

The boring (drilling) of the pile will be completed during normal working hours on Tuesday. From 6pm to 8pm the crane will be in use to install the reinforcement within the bored pile. Between 8pm and 3am, we will have concrete delivery wagons entering through G-Gate from Blythe Road, via Hammersmith Road. From 3am to 3:15am the installation will be complete by removing the casing, the only noise generated will be from the piling rig engine, which should not be particularly noticeable to residents. We anticipate that all works will be completed by 4am.

Flood lighting will be required during dark hours, facing inwards towards the site to minimise disturbance. All works will take place behind the retained Central façade on Hammersmith Road, therefore offering shielding for residents against noise and light nuisances.

Additional Best Practicable Means measures will also be enforced:

– Reduce operatives onsite to minimum required for the phase of operation
– No deliveries into site before 8am
– Use silenced Kelly bar when operating rig
– White noise reversing beacons on delivery vehicles
– Ensure supply chain partners take appropriate measures to complete the pour as quickly as possible
– Switch off plant engines if not in use
