Dear resident,

We would like to inform you of upcoming out of hours working at the Olympia Redevelopment.

On Olympia Way, from the 19th July to 1st September 2022, we will be demolishing the current Grand Hall ticket entrance.  Some of these works will need to take place outside of normal working hours as they interface with the users of the exhibition business and the public

Working hours are as follows:

  • Monday to Thursday up to 24-hours (working past midnight is unlikely, but possible on rare occasions)
  • Saturday 0800 to 1600
  • Sunday 0900 to 1600

Site workers will be present on site up to 1 hour before and after the above works schedule for site setup and closedown tasks.

Our best practice mitigation measures to minimise nuisance and disturbance are as follows:

•          directly lighting towards the work face (away from residential and commercial properties)

•          installing scaffold screen with netting

•          installing acoustic blankets

•          ensuring the noisiest works are kept to core working hours

There will also be two early morning deliveries via Olympia Way on Wednesday 20th and Thursday 21st July. On Wednesday at 0400, we will have an Electric Crawler Crane delivered. On Thursday at 0400 we will have a Piling Rig delivered, followed by a 100t mobile crane at 0630. These early deliveries are due to  local authority and police movement orders for oversized plant and vehicles and will not be noisy.

Whilst writing we can confirm that piling activities to Central will be continuing outside of normal working hours as per previous notifications.  These works will be complete by the end of July.

If you wish to contact us about anything, please do so via KOcommunity@laingorourke.com

Kind regards,

Laing O’Rourke
